Joel M. Reed was born on December 29, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor and director, known for Killer Zombies from the Titanic, The G.I. Executioner (1971) and The Renegade Ghouls of Kaplan's Swamp. He died on April 14, 2020 in Queens, New York City, New York, USA.

Oliver Stone was an admirer of Mr. Reed and present at the casting and shooting of Blood Sucking Freaks (1976).

A devoted fly fisherman who has also written extensively on the sport.

His parents were Gertrude and Albert Reed, the latter a record salesman.
