- After WWII, opened Izzy Redman's 125th Street Cafe in Jamaica Queens, NY, then drove a cab before moving to Los Angeles to do various character acting roles.
- Fought 50+ professional fights in New York City from 1936-1942, winning over 40. Then fought on his ship, The SS Bennington in WWII. After the war ended, Izzy launched a 10 fight comeback before retiring. Always fought with a Jewish star on his shorts. Was friends with Jake Lamotta and fought on his undercard 5 times at Madison Square Garden.
- Father in law of Oscar nominated and Grammy and Emmy winning composer Charles Fox.
