Mike Read was born on March 1, 1947 in Manchester, Lancashire, England, UK. He is an actor and writer, known for Tin Pan Alley (2016), My Kind of Music (1998) and How's Business (1991).

Plays guitar.

Veteran British DJ, and co-founder of The Guinness Book of British Hit Singles with Paul Gambaccini, Tim Rice and Jo Rice in 1977.

He is a prominent supporter of the United Kingdom Independence Party. In 2014, he released a single, "UKIP Calypso", performed with a mock Caribbean accent, but he withdrew it after accusations it was racist.
