RayVeness was born Karen M. Swaim in High Point, NC. RayVeness is an American with a British-Finnish ethnicity. She was raised in the Quaker faith and she got married a year prior to graduating from high school. RayVeness worked at various fast food restaurants as well as an Avon saleswoman prior to starting out in the adult film industry at age 18, in 1990 (in fact, she did her first sex scene for the company Homegrown Video).
