Biography

Candy Raymond was born in 1950 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She was an actress, known for Don's Party (1976), Breaking Up (1985) and The Plumber (1979). She died on December 31, 2025 in Australia.

Active as a voice artist for radio and television during the 80s and 90s.

She trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and began her career on the stage in 1967. Her classmates were John Hargreaves, Wendy Hughes and Grigor Taylor.

A familiar face on Australian television, remembered for her nude scenes in Number 96 and guest roles in popular series like Riptide and Prisoner. In 1975, Raymond was a regular in a comic skit segment titled "The Checkout Chicks", which in turn was part of The Norman Gunston Show. She was perhaps seen at her best as Lillian in the movie Monkey Grip and as Miss Zielinski in The Getting of Wisdom.

Appeared in stage productions of The Rocky Horror Show and Play It Again, Sam.
