Biography

David Logan Rankin has been acting for almost 50 years, appearing in numerous plays, musicals, films and videos regionally and in New York City. A graduate of The American of Dramatic Arts, Mr. Rankin has performed with Houston's Alley Theater, The Chamber Repertory, The Westmon Rep and The Urban Theater Company, and in NYC with The Metropolitan Playhouse, The Shakespeare Project, Theater for the New City, Raw Space and HB Studio Theater, among others. He won an Overall Excellence Award in Acting at The NY International Fringe Festival for his performance in "Night With Guests", and was singled out by Backstage for his critically acclaimed turn as Iago in "Othello" with The Shakespeare Project. His films include "Saint Janet", "Sane Jules Blaine", "Brute", "All Flowers in Time", "The Glow of a Warm Aquarium", "Loose Threads" and "Atlantic City Serenade". Also a playwright, David's works include "Mister Nameless Returns" (Artist-in-Residence at Mabou Mines); "Rebound" (with Dan Haft); "Smoke & Cats - A Trilogy of Short Plays"; "The Last Vampire" and most recently, "Iago: A Piece in Five Parts".
