Biography

Anne Ramsay was born on September 11, 1960 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is an actress and writer, known for A League of Their Own (1992), Planet of the Apes (2001) and The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014).

In her spare time, she enjoys athletics, playing beach volleyball.

Worked with an acting group called The Continum, which featured UCLA alumni, through which she got her big break and an agent.

She was the main actress in the 1996 video for the song "Goin' Where the Wind Blows", by Mr. Big.

Was inspired by Barbra Streisand's performance in the feature film "Funny Girl," which led her to study theater at UCLA.

Studied theater at UCLA and graduated with a bachelor's degree.

[on A League of Their Own (1992)] I wanted to be cast in the film so badly ... it was my first big job ... so I was just insanely happy. A League of Their Own is the one that launched my career ... yeah ... it was a huge, huge deal in my life.

[on being an athlete] I've always been an athlete. Strangely enough I never really played softball in my high school / college career but I was athletic enough to learn baseball, which is what they taught us.

[on Madonna during A League of Their Own (1992)] She's sweet and vulnerable and she could be caustic and self-protecting. She was so kind to me and I'm really grateful for it. My birthday happened to fall in the middle of shooting and she found out about it and she made sure that I had a cake, she gave me a Dolce and Gabbana outfit.

[on Lisa Stemple, her character in Mad About You] She was just a juicy character to play. It was such an off-the-wall character that every time I would come on, you'd have to give me the punch line. You had to give that character the punch line. People expected it.
