Biography

José Ramos Horta was born on December 26, 1949 in Dili, East Timor. He is known for Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992), Nobels Fredsprisutdeling (1959) and The Diplomat (2000).

Awarded the 1996 Nobel Peace prize with joint recipient, Bishop Belo.

Winner of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize.

1996 Nobel Peace Prize recipient and current Prime Minister of East Timor. His ex-wife is the country's Minister for State and Internal Administration.
