- In 1993, he was involved in a hit and run accident in Bandra, Bombay. His car ran over 4 homeless people sleeping on the side of the street. He ended up killing 2 people and injuring 2 people. The court ordered him to pay a compensation to the victim's families. He avoided a long jail term.
- In the February 1983 Stardust magazine carried a interview with Puru Rajkumar's mother. She stated that Puru was almost kidnapped by the infamous Billa and Ranga. Billa had been hanging around Puru's school for a few days. One day he spotted Raaj Kumar picking up his son from school. He hatched a plan to kidnap Puru.The next week when Puru was going to school with the house servant Bahadur, Billa sprung out and attacked him with a hockey stick.Bahadur told Puru to run,instead of running back home, he ran to the school. A couple saw Puru running and came to his rescue. Puru was taken to the local police station and identified Billa. The next week the Chopra"s kids were kidnapped and killed.
