Anna Quayle's father was the English stage actor Douglas Quayle (né John Douglas Bewick Quay), with no relation to the British actor Anthony Quayle. She was also the elder sister of actor John Quayle.

In 2012, Quayle was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia; she died on August 16, 2019 at the age of 86.

Earning extra money as a model while studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she fell from a ladder, breaking her nose in three places. Her actor-father persuaded her that it was 'a great prop', so she never had it straightened.

Quayle had one child (by her ex-husband Donald Baker), a daughter, Katy McConnell.

Won Broadway's 1963 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Musical) for "Stop the World -- I Want to Get Off."

Made her stage debut in "East Lynne" when she was three years old.

Studied at Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College in Harlesden, United Kingdom.
