Son of poet Salvatore Quasimodo and dancer/actress Maria Cumani Quasimodo.

He was president of the jury of some literary and poetry prizes such as the "San Domenichino città di Massa", the "Premio Città di Castello", the "Lord Byron Porto Venere Golfo dei poeti", of which he was also the founder.

Alessandro Quasimodo was the honorary president of the Salvatore Quasimodo Literary Park of Roccalumera , the place of origin of the Quasimodo family, as well as an honorary citizen of Roccalumera since 2017.

Alessandro Quasimodo was an Italian actor, theatre director and poet.

He collaborated with RSI Radio Svizzera Italiana, for which he took part in numerous radio dramas, and with RadioRAI, for which he curated, among other things, twenty-six broadcasts on Italian poetry between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries entitled Saltimbanchi dell'anima (1986).

From 1975 to 1978 he was part of Franco Parenti's Cooperativa Teatro Pierlombardo, taking part in numerous shows, including Molière 's The Misanthrope, Giovanni Testori 's Macbeth and Frank Wedekind 's The Dwarf Giant .

Quasimodo graduated as an actor in 1959 from the school of dramatic art of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. He attended a specialization course under the direction of Lee Strasberg at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, where he made his debut in Motivo di scandalo by John Osborne, directed by Lamberto Puggelli.

He was a narrator in Franz Liszt 's Dante Symphony with the piano duo Bresciani - Nicolosi for the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest (2007).

Quasimodo was the voice of John XXIII in a sacred oratory of the same name, presented in solemn form on 17 May 2014 in Rome in the Basilica of St. John Lateran at the conclusion of the celebratory ceremonies for the canonization of the Pope.

From 1979 onwards he devoted himself almost exclusively to his research on poetry, and in this context he proposed shows, performances, readings, often together with Mario Cei, with highly communicative results, also performed in many Italian Cultural Institutes, in Europe, Asia and North America.
