  • Aleksandr Pyatkov is a Soviet and Russian film and theater actor, People's artist of Russia.

    He was born in Moscow. First appeared on stage at age 17 - in the crowd at the Moscow Theater of Satire. At eighteen, he entered the Higher Theater School of M. Schepkin, which graduated in 1972 and became an actor of the Moscow Theater of Satire. Since 1974 Pyatkov has been working in the theater-studio of the film actor, and since 1997 he has been playing on the stage of the Malyy Theater of Russia. In 1975, he starred at the age of 24 in the Oscar-winning film by the famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala (1975).

    In Soviet and Russian cinema, Aleksandr Pyatkov became one of the most popular actors in episodic roles and played in films of various genres. Sometimes up to eight films with his participation, shot at film studios of several republics of the USSR at once, were released in one year.

    In addition to theater and cinema, Aleksandr Pyatkov was busy on stage and acted on television, and, having excellent singing data, performed with romances, folk and patriotic songs. He created the Ilya Muromets fund, whose president he was, and whose main task was to produce children's films and fairy tales. He took part in charity projects of the International Center for the Arts.
