Biography

Meta Valentic began her career as the youngest member of the DGA Assistant Director's Training Program. Her assistant director credits include Nixon, Castle, Bones, Lost (nominated for 2 DGA Awards), the Emmy and Golden Globe winning musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Dropout, and The Idol. She was most recently the Unit Production Manager on ABC's 9-1-1 from Ryan Murphy.

As a producer, Meta helps filmmakers hone their vision and delivers projects on time and on budget. Meta worked with producer Sandy Climan (The Aviator) at Entertainment Media Ventures. EMV is dedicated to creating groundbreaking feature films, television series, documentaries, and podcasts inspired by true events and real people living extraordinary lives. With a network of storytellers that ranges from diplomats, to newsmakers, to world-class intelligence agents, and exclusive access to adaptations of books, articles, podcasts and real-life events, EMV is positioned to curate unique and authentic content. Meta spearheaded development and partnered with diverse filmmakers to boost underrepresented voices in the EMV slate.

Meta Executive Produced The Donors, a female driven comedy web series for Kevin Hart's Laugh Out Loud network and Lionsgate. Meta produced the award-winning horror comedy short Girl #2, directed by David Jeffery (Bones). Meta has produced 5 independent feature films, including the critically acclaimed Urbania, which played the Sundance and Toronto film festivals and was released by Lionsgate. Meta was the UPM/Co-Producer of Lionsgate's Ladron Que Roba A Ladron(To Rob a Thief), a Spanish-language feature film starring Mexico and Latin America's top telenovela stars. Ladron stands as one of the top grossing Spanish language films in US history.

Meta was selected as a Producer's Guild Diversity Workshop Fellow, and a Sundance Film Financing Intensive Fellow. She is a screenplay competition judge and conference panelist at the annual Austin Film Festival. Meta is active in the Producers Guild of America, and recently finished co-chairing the Mentoring Committee. She created the PGA Mentor Shadow Program, which allows mid-career producers to shadow the top producers in the Industry. The Shadow Program placed producers on Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead, and Madame Secretary. She is involved in the PGA Women's Impact Network, which seeks to increase the power and visibility of female producers and filmmakers.
