Evelyn Maude Purcell is an Australian-born film director, writer, and producer. She began her career in London in public relations before moving to New York City, where she collaborated with her then-husband, filmmaker Jonathan Demme. Purcell later transitioned into directing and built a career in Hollywood, known for her work on Woman Undone (1996), Borderline (2002), and Heatstroke (2013). She is a member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA).
