Biography

Friedhelm Ptok was born on August 7, 1933 in Hamburg, Germany. He was an actor, known for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002). He was married to Elisabeth Orth. He died on February 13, 2026.

German dubbing voice of Senator Palpatine in Star Wars Episode I, III and III and the new shot emperor-scene in Episode V.

As a young man, he completed an apprenticeship as a printer according to his father's wishes. He then undertook private acting training against his father's wishes. After his final examination, he began his first engagement on the stage in Flensburg in 1957.

He has been the German dubbing voice for such actors as Ralph Bellamy, John Cleese, Derek Fowlds, Joel Grey, Jeremy Irons and James Mason.
