    - IMDb mini biography by: Alexis Papazisimos
  • His first work appears to be a role in TV series "O Symvolaiografos", for Greek ERT. He gained excellent critiques, as one of the biggest talents for serious roles ever! Short after he started making the so-called "videocasettes", movies meant to make career not on cinema, but in video-clubs. The critiques, by the same people, were now horrible! But in the pubic opinion he became top comedian, and all his "videocasettes" are Cult now. Especially the movie "Vasika Kalispera Sas", is mostly a documentary today than a comedy. Stathis Psaltis is often called "King of Cult" and "King of the '80s".

  • During the prime of his career in the 1980s, Psaltis portrayed many eccentric characters in comedies. His characters included pick-up artists, hotel staff with voyeurism as a hobby, radio pirates, professional thieves and con-men, self-trained private detectives, etc. The few elements most of these characters had in common were their defiant attitudes and their motormouth tendencies.
