Eleni Prokopiou

Eleni Prokopiou is a Greek actress, dancer, and choreographer who became known through her work in Greek cinema during the 1960s and early 1970s. She began studying dance at the age of six alongside Martha Karagianni and later performed with the Greek National Opera as a child. At 14, she made her stage debut as a dancer and subsequently formed a dance partnership with Vagelis Seilinos, with whom she performed in theater and cinema. Prokopiou made her film debut in The Sunday Date (1960) and initially appeared mainly in dancing roles before moving into acting. She gained wider recognition with "Young Aphrodites (1963), followed by roles in O emiris kai o kakomoiris (1964), To prosopo tis imeras (1965), and Rantevou ston aera (1966). She became a leading actress in a series of comedies, musicals, and dramas, including Oi kyries tis avlis (1966) and O gabros mou, o proikothiras (1967). She appeared in 23 films between 1960 and 1972, often performing her own choreography. She retired from acting after marrying furniture businessman Antonis Syrigos in the early 1970s and later had a daughter.
