In 1967, John Pringle won the Melbourne "Sun" Aria Award and, in the
same year, he joined the Australian Opera. He has sung many of the
title roles in opera, including "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Don
Giovanni". In 1988, he was made an AM (Member of the Order of
Australia) for services to opera.
