Eric Preven was born in 1963 in the USA. He was a producer, known for Santa Barbara (1984), Reba (2001) and Popular (1999). He died on November 8, 2025 in Studio City, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Well known in L.A. for his civic activism, often calling out local politicians on such issues as spending, transparency, homelessness policy and municipal reform.

Ran a longshot candidate for mayor in 2017, taking part in a candidates' debate that year.
