Biography

Mitzie Pratt is a Jamaican-born American actress and producer whose magnetic presence commands both stage and screen. She’s recognized for her ability to embody powerful, self-possessed women as well as layered, emotionally complex characters. She continues to captivate audiences across film, television, and theater.

Most recently, Mitzie appeared in the award-winning short film ‘Someone Loves You’, which earned Best Short Film honors at the 2025 ESSENCE Film Festival. She also appeared in the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize-winning dramatic horror feature ‘Nanny’, currently streaming on Prime Video, and she starred as Mildred "Mimi" Clarke in the original drama series ‘#LoveMyRoomie’, also on Prime Video.

As an Executive Producer, Mitzie championed the short film ‘Don’t Be Desperate’, which received the Outstanding Music Award at the 2023 Micheaux Film Festival and secured distribution on AspireTV. The film also garnered the Independent Spirit Award at the 2022 Detroit Black Film Festival, underscoring her commitment to elevating bold, independent storytelling.

Mitzie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Davis Center for The Performing Arts at The City College of New York and further honed her training in the MFA program at the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. Through every role she inhabits and every project she produces, Mitzie Pratt continues to build a body of work defined by depth, authenticity, and purpose.
