Biography

Derry Power was born on March 29, 1935 in Youghal, County Cork, Ireland. He was an actor, known for Far and Away (1992), My Left Foot (1989) and Disco Pigs (2001). He was married to Billie. He died on September 5, 2025 in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.

Quoted saying "there is no theatrical background at all in my family tree".

Best known as management genius Seamus Finnegan in the BBC Television sitcom The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin.

Irish character actor of stage and screen, often featured in plays at the Abbey Theatre.

Appeared in the first production of Brendan Behan's The Quare Fellow at Dublin's Pike Theatre in 1954.

Did a lecture tour of the USA and Canada, played with The Druid Theatre Company in Minneapolis, in New York and Tokyo and played at the Edinburgh Festival on many occasions.
