Biography

Joe Powell was born on March 21, 1922 in Shepherd's Bush, London, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Zulu (1964), The Dirty Dozen (1967) and Top Secret! (1984). He was married to Marguerite "Clem" and Juliet. He died on June 30, 2016 in London, England, UK.

As recent as 2014 Joe was filmed at his house in Hastings East Sussex about his portrayal of Sgt Windridge in 'Zulu', along with his stunt work on the film. The independent production company still has the interview in the vaults as at March 2020.

Brother of fellow stunt performer Eddie Powell.

Published his autobiography, "Life and Times of a Full Guy" in 2007.
