Subsequent to the cancellation of "The Whiz Kids" television series, Todd D. Porter returned to Cedar Grave, New Jersey, his town in which he grew up. After saving the life of a young school girl by using his recently acquired CPR skills, Todd became interested in the field of public safety and emergency services.
