Biography

Erich Poremski was born on March 10, 1895 in Strzelno, Poland. He was an actor, known for Vertigo (1958), Dr. No (1962) and Singin' in the Rain (1952). He died on February 16, 1980 in East Berlin, East Germany.

From 1920 he impersonated first roles in silent movies, among them "Das Fest der schwarzen Tulpe" (1920 )and "Gretchen Schubert" (1926). Afterwards followed a longer interruption where he concentrated to the theater again.

The actor Erich Poremski began his career as an operetta singer in Cottbus, it followed engagements in Bremen and Berlin. There he was not only active as a stage actor but also took over the management of the Thalia theater in 1922.

He only returned to the film business after World War II and he acted in numerous feature movies and TV productions.

He was also busy for radio plays and dubbing international movies.
