- Jorge Porcel was born on September 7, 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was an actor and writer, known for Carlito's Way (1993), El gordo de América (1976) and Fatso Catastrophe (1977). He died on May 16, 2006 in Miami, Florida, USA.

- Reportedly, during the filming of Carlito's Way (1993), the film's star, Al Pacino, had difficulty with his scenes with Jorge Porcel, who played Saso, the club owner. Porcel, who was primarily a television comedian in his native Argentina, spoke no English and learned his lines phonetically.
- Spent his final years residing in Miami, USA where he announced that he was a born-again Christian and had no plans on returning to the raunchy comedy routines that made him a star. He owned and operated a restaurant, "A La Pasta Con Porcel" which was located 2701 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
- In the 70-80s played comedy duo with Alberto Olmedo; they was considered the Argentina's greatest comic actors of the twentieth century.
