Biography

Graduated from International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, in the field of editing, in which he have taught from 1995 to the present.

He has done courses, workshops, seminaries and conferences in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Spain, México, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. He was professor of editing at the Sound and Image Design School of Buenos Aires University (UBA) and at the National School of Filmmaking (ENERC) of the National Cinema and Audiovisual Arts Institute of Argentina (INCAA).

He has edited more than 90 feature films in 12 countries and worked with directors as Leonardo Favio, Pino Solanas, Gerardo Vallejo, Damián Szifrón, Adrián Caetano, Diego Lerman, Jorge Alí Triana, Paula de Luque and Gabriel Nesci, among others.

He has received the award Premio Coral to the best editing in the Habana International Film Festival 2006 and the Silver Condor Award to the Best Editing from the Argentine Film Critics Association (being nominated other six times), both for the film "Crónica de una fuga" by Adrián Caetano.

Is a founder member of the Argentinean Association of Audiovisual Editors (SAE) of which he was the President between 2017/18. He has received twice the award that this Association gives to the Best Editing of the year for the films "La guayaba" by Maximiliano González and "Choele" by Juan Sasiaín.

He is member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Argentina and received the Sur Award for Best Editing in 2024 for the film "The trial" by Ulises de la Orden. For this film, he also received his second Silver Condor Award from the Argentine Film Critics Association.

In 2023 he received the Leonardo Favio Lifetime Achievement Award, granted by the Asociación de Cronistas Cinematográficos de Argentina.

He was a member of the jury of the Latin American Official Competition of the 39th Mar del Plata International Film Festival.

He published the book "La película manda. Conversaciones sobre el montaje cinematográfico en Argentina", UNTREF, 2013.
