Biography

Tomàs Pladevall was born on November 25, 1946 in Sabadell, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He was a cinematographer, known for The Blonde at the Bar (1986), Bar-Cel-Ona (1987) and Daniya, jardín del harem (1988). He died on February 4, 2026 in Barcelona, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

He was a casual teacher in the photography department in ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya), one of the best film schools in Spain.

In 2022, he received the highest honorary recognition of the Acadèmia del Cinema Català, the Gaudí d'Honor, for his entire career.

Also took care of the lighting of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games of Barcelona 92.

Interested in digital technology since the 1980s, when he had his first computer, he often remembered the anecdote that he was the first to use a Sony camera in Barcelona.
