Denise Pizzini

A career in design has always been a passion for me. I started as an interior designer in my home town of San Antonio, Texas, specializing in restaurant and commercial projects. Then after my first art direction job on a national commercial, I was hooked on design for television and film! I phased out my interior design business and moved to Los Angeles. I started in the Set Decoration department, and was fortunate enough to decorate films like "The Italian Job", "Thirteen Days", "Life as a House", and "A Walk in the Clouds" before I moved fully into production design. Since then, my production design experience has covered a wide variety of projects in television and feature film including the iconic final season of "Better Call Saul" and the acclaimed feature film "Chef", directed by Jon Favreau. Over the years, I've had the good fortune of having my work acknowledged by peers, receiving the Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award, and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Production Design, for ABC's "The Muppets." Other nominations include the Art Directors Guild award for the episodes "Pillows and Blankets" and "Basic Rocket Science" from NBC's "Community". I also received an Ariel award for my work on the celebrated feature film "Like Water for Chocolate". I truly enjoy the creative process, and the new challenges and collaborations every project presents. I also love living in Los Angeles... where I sometimes play second fiddle to my famous pug, Dickens.
