Biography

Robert Phillips was born on April 10, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was an actor, known for The Dirty Dozen (1967), Hour of the Gun (1967) and The Car (1977). He died on November 5, 2018.

Played pro football for the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears.

Served as a personal bodyguard for former Illinois Gov. Adlai Stevenson.

Worked undercover for the Los Angeles Police Department, his exploits serving as the basis for the Mike Connors TV show Tightrope (1959).

Served in the US Marine Corps as a swimming and self-defense instructor.
