Biography

Eddie Phillips was born on August 14, 1899 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was an actor, known for The Bells (1926), Ambush Valley (1936) and Benson at Calford (1926). He was married to Lee ?. He died on February 22, 1965 in North Hollywood, California, USA.

Phillips came to note as one of the stars in a series of two-reel silent screen comedies with Universal, 'The Collegians' (1926-1929), as an accident-prone youth. His career faded after the coming of sound. He spent most of the 1930's and 40's playing assorted henchmen in second feature westerns and potboilers for Poverty Row studios.

Phillips began his show-business career as a child and appeared in numerous Broadway productions and television shows. He can be heard on the original cast recording of the revival of "Oh Kay!" (1960) and can be heard on the title song and also "FidgetyFeet".
