Biography

Arnold Peters was born on June 3, 1925 in Hendon, Middlesex, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Germinal (1970), Warship (1973) and Pennies from Heaven (1978). He was married to Beryl. He died on May 11, 2013 in Northamptonshire, England, UK.

From 1980 to 2011 he was the voice of Jack Woolley in the long running BBC radio series, "The Archers". He replaced Philip Garston-Jones who had died. Prior to this he had also appeared as farmhand Len Thomas in 1953 and the Rev David Latimer, vicar of Ambridge, from 1968 to 1973.

His character Jack Woolley in "The Archers" developed Alzheimer's disease and was written out. Ironically Arnold Peters developed Alzheimer's himself shortly afterwards.

He was booked to play Questa in Doctor Who: The Macra Terror but was replaced by Ian Fairbairn.
