Biography

Zarko Petan was born on March 27, 1929 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He was a writer and director, known for Kavarna Astoria (1989), Vikend (1963) and Nas clovek (1985). He died on May 3, 2014 in Slovenia.

Graduated from the Faculty of Econmics in 1957. He then went onto the Academy of Performing Arts in Ljubljana which he graduated in 1977.

During World War II, he lived in Trieste with his family until the war ended. The family went back to Maribor where they owned a café.
