He wrote the first original audio production based on Doctor Who (1963) called "Doctor Who and the Pescatons". Released in July 1976 by Argo Records, it featured the series' current stars, Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen, as the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith, with Bill Mitchell as Zor. In 1991, Pemberton novelised the story for Target Books. He also wrote a novel based upon his 1968 "Doctor Who" serial "Fury from the Deep" (again for Target) in 1986.
