Ines Pellegrini is born in Massaua, Eritrea from Italian father and Eritrean mother. At the age of eight, she moved from Massaua to Asmara where she lived for ten years before moving to Rome, Italy. Then she began to work in minor movie roles until she met the Italian writer and director Pier Paolo Pasolini who, deeply moved by her uncommon beauty and attitude, offered her the major role of the slave Zumurrud in his movie "Il Fiore delle Mille e una notte" ("Arabian Nights"), 1974. She worked with Pasolini again in 1975, playing the role of the maid in "Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma" ("Salò Or The 120 Days Of Sodom"). Ines Pellegrini career went on between acting and modeling until 1985, when she left the movie industry.

Eritrean actress very popular during the '70s in Italy, she resides in Los Angeles, CA, with her Italian husband. She works as a volunteer for the poor and the homeless in L.A.
Pellegrini became a minor starlet in Italian films including Eyeball (1975), La madama (1976), Blue Belle (1976), Una bella governante di colore (1978) and War of the Robots (1978), appearing in 16 films between 1974 and 1981.
Ines Pellegrini made her film debut in 1973 in "Il brigadiere Pasquale Zagaria ama la mamma e la polizia" but her career was launched by Pier Paolo Pasolini, who chose her for the role of Zumurrud in "Arabian Nights" (1974); she also appeared in Pasolini's last film, "Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom" (1975).
In the mid-1980s, she left show business and moved to Los Angeles, where she opened a downtown antiques shop and promoted volunteering.
Though born in Milan, Italy, Pelligrini spent her childhood in the former Italian colony of Eritrea during the Ethiopia occupation and colonization of the territory, attending Italian schools, before returning to Italy with her adoptive father in the 1970s.
