Biography

Erika Pelikowsky was born on January 18, 1916 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. She was an actress, known for Vanina Vanini (1963), Pension Boulanka (1964) and The Divided Heaven (1964). She was married to Wolfgang Heinz. She died on February 21, 1990 in Vienna, Austria.

Married to the German actor Wolfgang Heinz. Their daughter is actress Gabriele Heinz.

When Wolfgang Langhoff recruited most of the actors from the Neue Scala for the Deutsches Theater in East Berlin following the former's closure, Pelikowsky was among them; she had already been making guest appearances there in various roles since 1951. She remained in East Berlin until the end of the GDR, later performing at Bertolt Brecht's Berliner Ensemble as well.

After a stint at the Schiller Theater in Berlin (1943–44), she returned to Vienna in 1945. There, she initially performed again at the Burgtheater, followed by the Volkstheater (1946, in Henrik Ibsen's "The Master Builder" alongside Albert Bassermann). Finally, she was a member of the ensemble at the Wiener Neues Theater in der Scala, which opened in 1948.

Erika Pelikowsky completed her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and worked at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1939 onwards.

Erika Pelikowsky was an Austrian actress. In addition to her stage roles, Pelikowsky became popular through numerous roles in DEFA feature films and television movies.
