- Directed his only film, Limit (1931), at age of 21. This movie is considered one of the greatest classics of Brazilian cinema ever.
- After Limit (1931), Peixoto's second film would be Onde a Terra Acaba (1933), starring Carmen Santos for whom he wrote the project. Due to many personal problems Carmem was absent for most of the shooting. The film was completed with another director but it got lost on a fire (a handful of excerpts survived). The documentary about Peixoto At the Edge of the Earth (2001) presents more about the behind the scenes from the movie.
- His third film would be "Maré Baixa". Peixoto found the location and took pictures of the actors on set but he abandoned the project later on.
