    In January, some extra scenes of Wittekerke (1993) were shot, that included the character of Marcel Deleu. Pauwels, however, was already too ill to play the part of Marcel (he died of cancer two months later). Hugo Danckaert was asked to play the part of Marcel, but he was shot only from the back.
