- Apparently auditioned for F Troop (1965) on a lark. She was not quite 16, and kept her age from the producers. When she had secured the part, she told them her age. Their shock and consternation were ameliorated shortly thereafter by her maturity and professionalism.
- She was continuing her education to acquire her teaching credentials as her goal was to instruct high school drama, and English. Melody was a published writer with her column "Wrapping with Wrangler" for "Wildest Westerns Magazine", and was creating an outline and gathering data to write a book.
- Received her Bachelor's Degree from Sierra Nevada College (1999)
