- Born in Frankfurt. His mother, Claudia Joest, born Steinfeld Passamonte, is a sociologist who was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father, Ebu Joest, comes from the Frankfurt merchant dynasty Joest. Fabian's paternal grandfather, Adam Joest, owned a winery and was the inventor of the lemon carbonated soft drink, which he distributed at his famous water houses ("Wasserhäuschen") in the Rheinmain area. Fabian's maternal grandfather Kurt Steinfeld Passamonte, was a journalist and correspondent for Life magazine and interviewed the "Perons", Eva and Juan Domingo, president couple of Argentina as well as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara before the revolution in Cuba. Fabian took acting classes in New York and Berlin. Track record: More than 40 films and TV episodes, more theater performances. He lives on Mallorca.
