Reinhold Pasch

  • The son of a ship's captain, on stage from 1902 and in occasional silent films from 1912. Worked mainly in the theatre during the 1920's, including appearances in musical comedies and operettas on Broadway. Remained in the United States, moving to Hollywood and appeared in bit parts under contract to RKO and Paramount. Returned to Germany in 1935 as a featured supporting player. Often billed as 'Reginald Pasch'.
  • To his last cinematical works belong "Herrin der Welt" (1960) and "Sturm im Wasserglas" (1960).
  • The actor Reinhold Pasch belonged to the German film pioneers whose first appearances in front of the camera can be backdated to 1912.
  • He engagements on the big screen became more numerous again with the talkies. He normally played support roles in movies like "Der Kaiser von Kalifornien" (1936), "Condottieri" (1937), "Tango Notturno" (1937), "Der Berg ruft" (1937), "Sergeant Berry" (1938) and "Liebesbriefe aus dem Engadin" (1938), in doing so he often acted at Luis Trenker's side.
  • In the 20's he concentrated often on the stage, he only took part sporadically in movies.
