As a boy, Derek was bumped from a flight by Leslie Howard. It was shot down
by the Nazi Luftwaffe. He attended Paris and Barcelona universities, traveled in 75 countries,
working in 8 of them. He was an RAF Officer, an ad agency Account Exec, company CEO and Counselor
to the CEO of Beyond Artificial Intelligence. He always wanted to be a TV presenter. In 1976 he coached trap shooters in
Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) where Mike Hart-Jones, head of Rhodesian TV hired
him. His programs included Frankly Partridge. The Daily Telegraph called his
leaflet Rhodesia - As It Really Is: A drop of truth in an ocean of lies. He was a columnist for the Daily Express Investor's Guide. He won 2 Emmys
and 2 Tellys.He set a world record at the Nordic Clay Target Shooting Championship. He was married to Jill Curzon of BBC TV's Hugh and I, to June Barry of The
Forsyte Saga. In 2019, he met Charo, a former Aero Mexico exec.He has 3 rescued cats, described in his book: My Lovable Rescued Kitties.
