  • Parkes was one of England's up and coming racing drivers during the 1960s. The son of businessman, Parkes started racing in 1957 and raced in England and Europe in both Formula 1 and Sportscars, where he achieve his greatest success. An accident in Belgium, where he suffered serious leg injuries hindered his career and he soon retired and became an executive at Ferrari. He was killed in a road accident when his car collided with a truck in England.
