Park Chan-wook is a world-renowned South Korean film director, screenwriter, producer, and former film critic. He is widely considered one of the most prominent architects of modern South Korean cinema's global explosion. Known for his impeccable framing, dark humour, and extreme themes, Park crafts visually stunning thrillers that explore the deep complexities of human guilt, vengeance, and redemption.
He achieved monumental international fame with his "Vengeance Trilogy," consisting of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), and Lady Vengeance (2005). Oldboy won the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, earning high praise from jury president Quentin Tarantino and cementing Park's status as a global auteur.
