- Valeri Panov was born on March 12, 1938 in Vitebsk, Byelorussian SSR, USSR [now Vitebsk, Belarus]. He was an actor, known for Die Fledermaus (1986), Odin iz nas (1971) and The Sleeping Beauty (1964). He was married to Ilana Yellin, Liya Panova and Galina Ragozina. He died on June 3, 2025 in Ashdod, Israel.

- In 1972, he and his wife Galina were fired from the Kirov Ballet for applying to immigrate to Israel, where they finally arrived in June of 1974.
- He was also artistic director of the Royal Ballet of Flanders from 1984 to 1986.
- He studied at the Vaganova School in Leningrad and also attended the Moscow and Leningrad Ballet Schools, graduating from the latter in 1957.
- In 1993, he founded the Ashdod Art Centre in Israel and five years later created the Panov Ballet in Ashdod, where he served as its artistic director.
- He was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1969 and Merited Artist of the R.S.F.S.R. in 1970.
