After a long successful career in Australia Simon Palomares returns to Spain.
Simon Palomares is an Australian-Spanish comedian and actor best known for his pioneering role in shaping Australia's multicultural comedy scene. Born in Germany to Spanish parents and raised in Australia, he studied drama and psychology at Deakin University and later trained at the prestigious Juan Carlos Corazza School in Madrid.
Palomares first rose to prominence as a co-creator and performer of the groundbreaking stage show Wogs Out of Work, which celebrated migrant humour and went on to inspire the hugely successful television sitcom Acropolis Now. His portrayal of café manager Ricardo "Ricky" Martinez made him a household name and cemented his place in Australian comedy history.
Alongside his television work, Palomares has built an international stand-up career, performing in the United States, Canada, Spain, and Argentina, often delivering shows in Spanish. He has also toured nationally with Il Dago, a hit comedy celebrating European-Australian identity, and blended food with humour in his unique live show Palomares Cooks Calamares.
As a director and writer, he has worked on stage and screen, including projects for SBS and theatre productions in Melbourne. Through his comedy, Palomares continues to bridge cultures, languages, and generations with humour and insight
