P.J. Palmer is an award-winning filmmaker known for emotionally resonant, visually bold storytelling that explores identity, survival, and grace. His work centers on outsiders and truth-tellers-characters navigating systems of power, faith, and silence.

Raised in the remote Sierra Nevada mountains and later in a strict Pentecostal household, Palmer draws from a deeply personal history of resilience, queerness, and spiritual complexity. His films often span multiple time periods and formats, blending cinematic and theatrical language to explore memory, love, and the cost of being seen.

He is the writer/director of North Star, an Oscar-qualified short starring Colman Domingo and Kevin Bacon, and the creator of Crossfade, a hybrid anthology series blending filmed theater and cinema. Palmer is also developing Son of a Preacher Man, a limited series based on his own life.
