Biography

Horace Ové was born on December 3, 1936 in Belmont, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. He was a director and writer, known for Pressure (1976), Play for Today (1970) and Reggae (1971). He was married to Annabelle Alcazar, Mary Irvine and Jean Balosingh. He died on September 16, 2023 in London, England, UK.

He was awarded the C.B.E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2007 Queen's Birthday Honors List for his services to the film industry.

He was awarded the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2022 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Media. He is a film maker and photographer in London, Greater London, England.

He had five children. A daughter, Genieve Sweeney (with first wife, Jean Balosingh); son Zak Ove (b. 1966) and daughter Indra Ové (b. 1967) (with second wife, Mary Irvine); daughter Ezana Ove and son Kaz Ove (with third wife, Annabelle Alcazar).
