Biography

Many of the later movies stars began her career under the direction of Hans Oberländer, among them the very popular Harry Liedtke.

Hans Oberländer joined the film business in 1911 where he soon became a busy director of the early silent film era.

The director Hans Oberländer was interested in acting at a young age. He finished his study in philology with the dissertation about the acting in the 18th century. Finally he made his own experiences as a stage actor and he went on tour through numerous smaller cities.

At the beginning of the 20s came his film career to an end.

As a director he realised "Dämon Weib" (1920), "Die Frau von morgen" (1921) and "Dämon Liebe" (1921). Afterwards he wrote the screenplay for the movie "Rosen aus dem Süden" (1926), furthermore he also appeared twice in front of the camera as an actor for "Blitzzug der Liebe" (1925) and "Fruchtbarkeit" (1930) - his last cinematical activity.
