Michael O'Donoghue was born on January 5, 1940 in Sauquoit, New York, USA. He was a writer and actor, known for Mr. Mike's Mondo Video (1979), Saturday Night Live (1975) and Manhattan (1979). He was married to Cheryl Hardwick and Janice Bickel. He died on November 8, 1994 in New York City, New York, USA.

Spoke the very first words in the first Saturday Night Live (1975) sketch, teaching John Belushi nonsense English phrases.

Suffered from severe migraine headaches, which he described as feeling like long steel needles being driven into his eyes.

Wrote for the magazines The Evergeen Review (where he created the comic strip character Phoebe Zeit-Geist), and The National Lampoon.

Was a writer, actor and creative director on the "National Lampoon Radio Hour".
