O'Brien is an accomplished Composer, Musician and Producer with over 18 years professional experience. He is particularly known for his dramatic scoring in Orchestral and Contemporary styles. He has worked with many veteran Producers and Directors on diverse Film and Television projects. Although his name is not yet widely known, his music has heard by millions every day in the United States. Since 1994, O'Brien's work has been used in countless nationally broadcast spots by the CBS Television Network.

Has worked with a wide variety of studio ensembles - large and small - including the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, London. Daniel marked his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1996 with a world premiere performance of "The Pleiades" and the presentation of his award- winning "Colorado Suite." Noteworthy among his film credits are original scores for the independent films "Brights" and "Last Train Out." The latter film was honored at the Chicago Latino Cinema International Film Festival and excerpts from its score were premiered at the Los Angeles County Museum of Fine Art in 1994 with O'Brien as featured guitar soloist. This performance was broadcast live on KUSC radio. "Michaela's Theme" and "Grand Theme" earned O'Brien the BMI/UCLA Film Scoring Scholarship earlier in his career. The works were inspired by an original piece the CBS Television Network commissioned O'Brien to write for promotional use for the hit television series "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." Recently he joined the teaching faculty at LTU in Los Angeles where he teaches Film Scoring and Music Production to advanced composition students. O'Brien's ability to compose in a variety of musical genres--from orchestral underscoring to "pop" styles including rock and contemporary ballads--has kept him in demand scoring films, television pilots and commercials. O'Brien is founder of the Los Angeles-based ALLEGRO MUSIC company and lives in Southern California with his wife and two sons.
